Cleaning Closet for 2009!
Countdown to the last days of 08….You are trying to figure out what to do with the rest of your holiday before you have to go back to work, HM HM I have one for you….Go threw your closet and get rid of some of those old styles, knitty balled clothes, crooked heels, and faded t-shirts. Don’t go into your new year with the same old Crap (Yeah I said it Crap!) That you have been rocking all Summer and Winter. Separate your work clothes, Casual clothes, and Going out clothes from each other. I know a lot of us have work clothes that sometimes serve as club clothes. Honestly you should never mix them. Unless you are a “Carrie Bradshaw” when you go to work. But reality is your not. Make a habit of getting one summer wear out of your t-shirts. There is nothing worse than seeing a dingy t-shirt that used to be cute! Step your game up (in the words of SYGU)!
Those cute shoes that you got last year that you have been rocking all year take them off and examine them. Scuffs, heels off, bulging print of the baby toe…..THROW THEM AWAY. Dingy shoes are not called for especially when there are so many Affordable cute shoes.
If you don’t know about the different trends or even what Cut of clothes are in style….ASK. We are always open for advice and even will recommend you to different avenues to try out. If you don’t want to come to us….GOOGLE IT!
Some of you are thinking that if you do this you wont have any clothes left…..That’s okay. Go and get one pair of shoes and 3 nice tops. You will be surprise how you can coordinate so much with these 3 tops and 1 pair of shoes. Quality over Quantity is always a better look.
Whatever you do take this seriously and try it out. You would be surprise how much better you will feel once you give yourself a wardrobe makeover.

How should I rock it?
Ciara looks classy and tasteful. In this Sweater dress that is probably sleeveless Ciara puts on a nice thin leather jacket to bring out the sexy black pumps which probably would not have looked right if the jacket was not worn. She accents her outfit with long straight black hair. This was the perfect ensemble and she gets a THUMBS UP for this one!
While checking out CiCi's outfit I thought of Grey. I don't wear Grey often but that is not because I don't like it, it's just that i don't think of the color often. Well here are some great Grey items that I found very impressive, stylish, and affordable.
Closing things with my little segment I like to call, "Who should rock it"? My biggest topic of conversation is who should rock leggings. Everybody can rock them appropriately! But who should rock them without a top covering your behind.........Only the people who look like this.
On that note I leave you with this, If you have doubts before you walk out the door 9 times out of 10 your doubts should be addressed and you should stop and try it again. Just because they make it in your size does not mean it was made for you.

Some Do's and Dont's
This women here has come along way. The hair is appropriate and the color is perfect. Ms Mary accents her breast with a hint of cleavage slightly showing. Slight accessories with the wedding ring and the watch. Makeup is perfect and blends very well. What helps the outfit is that her body is right. Everyone marvels at the stars especially the ones that work out but you have to remember this takes time and energy to get to this point.
This is why you shouldn't wear that belt. Even though the waist on Raven and Serena are small there is still a level of inappropriateness. These belts are not hiding anything but bringing attention to the size of the chest. Please stop wearing the belts please!
Why thick leggings are the obvious choice for the winter time. The leggings give this outfit and shoes a different looks instead of going bare legged. Step our games up and bring Classy and Style back.
Expect more ways of rocking certain outfits and where to find them.

Current STL Fashion State
All my single ladies, All my single ladies, All my single ladies, All my single ladies
Put your hands up.
Ok with that said, I have a couple things to address. First let me get my disclaimer out the way. This is by no means to throw anybody under the bus or be offensive. But somebody needs to address the obvious.
Anybody who knows me knows that I love fashion and I love to dress. But I have my moments as well as the next person, but there are some no no’s that need to stop! Ladies I know all of us weren’t born with the a fashion gene but common sense should take place as well and invest in a long mirror (IF you don’t have one).
1. If you are going to where tight pants, tights, or anything that clings to your behind….PUT A THONG ON! I am tired of women walking around with the grandma’s on making there outfit look ten times worst than what it is. OR if you are going to wear Grannie panties buy the seamless ones!
2. There are such things as Winter Leggings and summer leggings. If your leggings are tights with no feet in them, please save them for the summer time. Leggings for the winter should be a thicker material. Or if you want to wear stockings where stockings.
3. BELTS! Ladies my theory on belts is that they are made for Skinny Girls…..But that is just my own theory. But it is fine to wear a belt in a proper pair of pants within the belt loop. But if you have any sort of Belly please stop putting those belts on top of a shirt under the breast. Like do you seriously think that is cute! Come on now.
4. Ok I am not finished with clothes, but I must talk about these hair do’s. Weave…I love it, I rock it, and sometimes I feel some people shouldn’t live without it. But if your hair is kinky or not the best texture in the world please stop buying SILKY STRAIGHT. Stop letting those men in the Beauty supply stores tell you that it matches. They are just trying to make a sale. If you need the proper hair and need some in-house advice, go to the Beauty supply store on the corner of Goodfellow and West Florissant, the older African-American woman in there will help you match your texture and color. And she even gives discounts if you are nice enough to her. Ok I need to address these WIG Fiascos! WIGS are fine; you have some of the best wigs down at Grand Wig on Washington by the Fox. But once again, SILKY STRAIGHT or the wrong color! OMG yall are making us look bad as a culture walking around with the WIGS that look fake! I have been in the club and saw some hot messes. I know if I think it looks crazy they have to be seeing the same thing when they look in the mirror. If you need help there are a bunch of GOOD beauticians in STL that can hook it up. Mine in particular Shonte’s at Shonte’s Chateau at 314-389-1770 (PLUG) but if you don’t want to go to her try Steven Lacy at Christopher Steven’s down on 2020 Washington. Just please do something! Braid it, something!
5. Ok back to the clothes. SHOES! I know we are all not balling out of control, but if you have a pair of shoes and the heal is off of them and when you walk you hear click click, please go to the nearest shoe repair and get a stopper for the heal for $3-$8. That is all it takes. Or if you know your WHOLE heal is about to fall off please don’t wear them and look silly when they finally come off. I know the ECONOMY is horrible but I have been in the discounted shoes places lately and found some real cute cheap shoes lately. You can ball on a budget. You don’t have to always do the Nordstrom’s, Neiman Marcus, or Specialty Shops, but these places have major discounts as well so don’t sleep on them either.
6. Accessories……Now it makes no sense for your accessory game not to be up to par with stores like ABC trading company, the Beauty supply, and even Walgreens. Some of yall are wearing these horrible pieces of jewelry. Not a big fan of colored jewelry but I have seen some cute colored jewelry. But if you are 25+ and have the same colored jewelry as your 15 year old niece, daughter, or lil cousin. Something is wrong!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Say it again. Something is wrong!!!!!!!!!!!! Stop the madness.
My head is truly hurting from the hot mess of STL that I have been experiencing lately. Do you know what we are known for in other cities? Dressing! Yall are not representing. Stop walking out looking like a thundercat, hoochie mama, and tack heads! This will not be the last you will receive from me. I will be addressing Fashion Issues every time I feel you just don’t get it.
*YOU WERE NOT SINGLED OUT ALL OF MY FRIENDS ON FACEBOOK RECEIVED THIS*
